I have a Asus P8Z77-v Pro motherbaord with Intel i5 3570K, and Intel 82579V ethernet controller. What is core duo processor. I am still not certain if the Mint16 64bit system is even supposed to work on this machine. I haven't tried 32 bit, maybe I should. It does say those models with core 2 duo are 64 bit though. The problem definitely seems to be associated with the differences between 32bit(works) and 64bit(fails).
