USB 3 PCI-Express Card not working Hi, Downloaded Windows 10 a few weeks ago everything working fine. Today I installed a USB 3 PCI-Express Card so that I can use the External HDD at a quicker rate. The Device Manager shows it as 'USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller', which I assume means the computer recognises that the Card is fitted. Unfortunately, while Windows 10 recognized the controller, found the driver for it and reported that the device works correctly, when I plug my external HDDs, Windows 10 starts to choke and become unusable. When I unplug the HDDs, the performance comes back to normal. The IO Crest 2 Port SATA III 6Gbps PCI-Express x1 Card is the easiest way to update any computer with SATA ports. Once installed¸ this host card will add SATA ports with two independent channels. This allows support of two SATA devices at speeds of up to 6Gb/s whether it is a SATA hard drive or SATA device. 3 Gb/s 2-port SATA PCIe adapter for Mac and Windows PCs. Install a Tempo™ SATA E2P—it's an affordable solution for adding external SATA ports. Tempo SATA E2P does—through its two ports, this card can handle up to ten(2) drives!

I have connected the card directly to my PSU using the 15pin sata to molex connection.
The drivers install and come up in device manager as 'Renesas USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft)' but when I connect anything to the USB ports, the device that is connected is not recognised.
I have just tested it again with my USB stick and when connected to my normal USB ports it is detected fine but when connected to the pcie card it comes up as 'Unknown USB device'.
I have tried putting the card into various slots to no avail. Am I doing something wrong or is the pcie card simply not compatible with my motherboard?
Any suggestion and advice would be greatly appreciated!
